Does anyone run this on their server.
Do you push it manually or set a time for it to push out.
Filter them and only push what is needed or update everything via user?

We run the version previous to the current one to keep about 70 Windows machines up to date.  Current WSUS is a Server 2003 thing and I have no intention of upgrading our current Server 2000 WSUS box just to run the latest WSUS.  As far as the updates go, it will go get all updates from M$ and you use the browser-based admin console to push out updates to your machines.  I have several groups including server, several separate departments, and a special FUBAR group which I use to test the rollouts.  If the FUBAR machines are not killed by the updates, I roll them out to the other groups.  It works pretty well, even using MSDE or whatever the hell they call it now (SQL Server Express, I think).  That is a pig, seeming to hog more memory and processor time than our production SQL Server 2000 installation.  I have no idea why they use a single-machine RDMS when a flat-file system would work.  But I digress.

Roll out WSUS on a test server and several test PC's to see if it will work for you.  I know of several other admins who are using Smoothwall and a plug-in to cache Windows updates at the firewall so that as machines update automatically they pull patches from the cache instead of M$.  You might try that, especially for a small network.

Whatever you do, test, test and test before going into production.

Yep,
Have about 75 users. I was told we are going to start using it. The admin before me would push them out when he felt like it but it would reak havoc with some of the software we used. Mainly sales.
We are intergrating to Vpro systems and I am spear heading that (Lucky me) but we are waiting for an upgraded version to come out for ticket control etc. (Users will beable to write their own ticket)
The software has wsus on it and guess I need to learn how to set that up. They just gave me a room with a crap load of servers and computers in it to do my tests as I am new to this network.

WSUS was really easy to get going.  I was surprised it came from M$, to be honest.  It installed, configured and performed just like the documentation said it would.  You may be pleased with it in the long run.  Luckily for you they gave you enough equipment to set up a test network, and hopefully enough time to do the actual testing.
