Lately the PC's sound has been crackling, popping, and buzzing. Is this a sign that I have a problem with the sound card? It is very annoying. Thanks for looking! AB |

add on sound cards are notorius for picking up rf interference and translating that to static/popping buzzing etc. this is more common on low end cards. you might check for power and or data cable routed next to or over the card. old power supplies can bleed rf as well if it's an older machine. you may also be picking up interference from object around the pc or speaker cabels. flourescent lights, power supplies for other devices etc. |
