Why do software engineers sometimes make things so difficult? I have finally switched to XP Pro, and I'm slowly ironing out the "Cartoon'ish-ness" of it. I've worked with/on computers for years, splashy colors, cute sounds, and other BS aren't what I'm looking for in a GUI/OS! The most recent thing to give me trouble is the question of : How do you reset the widow size a "New window" opens to, on the "Right-click" option of "Open in a new window"??? I've searched the "Help" files 3 ways to sunday.... Why the F**K does it have to be so un-intuitive? Have a menu setting "Window size" or something! AND I'VE DONE IT BEFORE! I JUST CAN"T REMEMBER HOW!" Anyone!?!?!?! Thanks.....Again! Tall Shadow

| I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but if you right-click the icon for a program, word, excel, whatever, either on the desktop or from the start menu, then click properties, there is a drop-down menu for run minimized, normal window, or maximized, and all future uses will run that way when you start that program. |
Well, I don't think there is one exactly. What you can do is open one window of each type you work with (My Documents, My Computer, etc), resize them to what you want, then logoff. When you log back in that will be the new default. See, aren't you glad Bill Gates was thinking of you when he did that?
