Problem: I get sharp stutters while listening to music or watching a DVD on my computer. The sound/video will stutter and the entire computer freezes for a a split second then it's fine. I figure it's some type of conflict, driver or otherwise.

Specs:

Opty 170 @ 2.8 ghz
DFI NF4 Ultra D
OCZ DDR500 2x1gb
Nvidia 7900GTX 91.45 drivers

Happens with videos, like on Google video as well.

Onboard Nvidia Nforce sound.

Probably just going to format tonight and hope it goes away.

yeah try it on a fresh install and see if it still does it.  then install software/ drivers and see when you start having the problem

Yep, backing up data now on DVDs.

Cruze you play games on your PC, in your opinion is RAID-0 worth it or is it better to have two separate drives so data is theoretically safer?

i personally have never used a raid 0 setup (or any other raid setup).

i was just thinking about it within the last few weeks though.   i just bought a 160gb sata II drive a couple months back.  i can get the same drive for about half what i paid then.

i would definately give it a shot, everyone i know thats tried it has been pleased

hardrives are cheap

as long as your doing what your doing now (backing to dvd)   you will be fine.

Well I'm running with RAID 0,

No stuttering issues yet.

Supports the idea that there's no cure like a good format.

ETA: Listening to Zeppelin as a test.
