what kind of ram did the machine have in it before.  ddr.  sdram

what speed pc 133.   pc 2700, 3200

did you buy the same speed or named brand as the original?

have you check to see if that board is compatible with that memory.    check for bios updates perhaps

is the memory single or dual sided.    will your board handle dual sided memory?

originally it had 2 256ddr pc3200 & 1 512ddr pc2100, and not sure about the dual sided mem, but its the kind that has the pairs thing, where the DIMM slots are setup as 1/3/2/4

you will need to check your motherboard manual most likely.  it will tell you where to put the memory

doubled sided just means it has chips on both side of the memory
