Now that I found the geek forum, is there any PDA users out there?

What do you use, what OS, and what do you like?  If you had to buy again, or a chance to buy a different PDA instead of the one you're using now, what would it be?

I use have a Palm MIII, is uses PalmOS 5 (I think) It sucks, it collects dust, unless I need it for a good ebook.

Laptop is the best PDA or buy a WinCE PDA (I hear they're nice)

I am planning on buying a dell x51v 624 mhz.  Has tons of storage, runs on windows pocket 2005, sd card capable, bluetooth and wifi capable.  I lug my laptop around in the truck with me all day, and feel a pocket pc might work for me better.

I use Palm M500 with Palm 4.0 OS.  I started with Palm IIIXE then Palm 125 now this.  I would like to upgrade to a Tungsten but will wait.  I use documents to go and several games.

I've got a Garmin iQue which is a GPS/PDA.

I use the thing on the road as I can toss it in a rental car and even carry it in my pocket while walking around a strange city and not get lost. It runs normal Palm software as well. The thing has a lighter plug that gives the normal turn-by-turn directions and allows you to play back MP3's from the tiny speaker too ... better than nothing in a rental car though.

I've got a Toshiba e335 which I've had for a few years and it uses the PocketPC 2002 OS.  I like it quite a bit.  I've found the few applications that work for me and stick with that.  I've found all sorts of weird stuff to try out on it, but for it, I typically just stick with what works...besides, I didn't really need an FTP server on it...hehe.

One thing I hate is that when the battery dies, such as when the unit freezes with the screen on...so it's a pain,  then I have to resync my contacts into it.  Everything else I save on the 1GB SD card, but I haven't bothered to dig in to see if I can keep my Outlook contacts on the card.  It's a pain when I'm out and the thing dies.  I can charge it in the field, but I'm contact-less until I get home.

Another thing I'd like is wi-fi...it wasn't as common when I got mine.

I have the Dell AXIM X50v, and I really like it, have installed a 1gb SD card and 512mb CF card.

I also have an iPaq 4150 with a 512mb SD card.

They both have 802.11b wireless built in and both have Bluetooth. They both run WM2003SE

I like the Dell the best. The X51v ought to be a good one, just not really sure about WM2005

I have an HP/Compaq PPC 3970.  I have a 1 gig SD card and a CF GPS in a sleeve that I don't leave home without.

I've used HP's for the last 5 years, and absolutely depend on them for navigation, phone & address, scheduling, etc.

I just ordered a new, HP 2790, which has WiFi, Bluetooth, SD & CF slot with the latest version 5 OS, so I may be selling the trusty 3970 soon.

You gotta use these things a lot or they're just another gadget in the drawer though.

I have a Dell X50V 624 MHZ with the bluetooth and WiFi.  I am very happy with it and if I was to do it again I would check out the X51v to see how it is running on the latest OS.  I prefer the PocketPC units over the Palm.  Just my preference.  It took me about two months of research to make my decision.
