I need a program to rip a DVD to an mpeg file. I need to be able to control things like audio, resolution, quality and file size.

ETA: And any helpful suggestions for doing the best quality with the smallest file size. It's about 5 1/2 minutes of video.

Thanks.

For this type of stuff I usually run (not walk) to www.videohelp.com/...they're the experts on that.

Looks like this write-up may fit what you're working on.

I don't know any way of doing it directly, but you can use DVD2AVI to rip the video, then remux the audio, correct the picture, and convert to an MPEG1 with Tsunami MPEG Encoder.
