I use it regularly.

Has very little to no relations with your O/S

there are however some things (3d content central for solidworks for example) that won't load properly with Firefox, so keep IE handy.

when you install it, the installation wizard will ask if you want to make it the default browser, where and if it should import favorates and history.

I'm quite happy with the Firefox browser, I've been using it for awhile (since before it was called Firefox...or the name before that ).

.

My thoughts, too. Works great but there are some sites that simply aren't compatible with it. Use IE for those.

I used Firefox for a while, until I purchased the FAR SUPERIOR browser - Opera 8.

use it.

You can import bookmarks and cookies from ie.

Don't look back. Just save ie for those rare sites that won't load correctly in firefox.

Their free distro of version 8 runs slower than Firefox for me.

Maybe the free version is crippled?

I use it all the time. For pages taht are broken in Firefox I have a firefox extention that lets me right-click on any page and select 'view this page in IE' which fires up an IE window and navigates to the broken page. Its called ieview (how clever).
