| I think i deleted it on my processes menu. It will not let me access my properties menu when i right click on my desktop. It shows up that it cannot find rundll32.exe. I would appreciate directions on restoring it or what needs to be done. I am not very good with computers either. Thanks so much for any advice. |
| Ok ive done what you said now its telling me that some files need to be copied to the rundll cashe for windows to run properly... so I follow directions and install the Win XP CD and it wont check compatability because its saying that I have a newer verion of xp than what is on the disk im assuming that is because I run microsoft update. So my question is would it be safe to follow directions on the disk and get rid of the upated virsion so I can check compatability? |

that I'm not sure of as I haven't run into that on my own. I'd probably due it on my own computer as I often take risks like that, but I can't say "go ahead and do it" as I can't be sure what'll happen. I'd think it'd be ok, as I've copied older files before but I'm not 100% sure another possible option is to see if there is a folder named i386 on the computer. if so it should have a backup copy of rundll32.exe in it. if so you could copy it into the windows\system32 folder. that i386 folder should also have other original files, as does the CD another option would be to type in the message it's giving here and see what it turns up support.microsoft.com/ |
