I just bought a new computer and I want it to stay spyware free. I already have Norton Internet Security pack installed and I read in a computer mag that I still need anti-spyware software. They recommended downloading Spybot Search & Destroy but I distrust downloading software from the internet. I think that this software has a good chance of having spyware in it and I'd rather buy the software so.....

What is the best software out to combat spyware?

Don't  log into the new system as all powerfull uber god account.

uber god powers for system maintence/installing software.. (sadly, nice theory, but don't work well in real world for most people)
