I have attachments to contracts that change numbers, ie attachment 1 attachment 2 attachment 3 and so on.
Is there a way in word when attachment 1 is referenced in the agreement, if attachment 1 becomes attachment 2 that it automatically updates? Kind of a reference of sorts but looks/prints like normal text. I'm doing it the old fashioned way, but I remember being able to do this back using Corel WordPerfect 20 some odd years ago. Example: blah blah blah blah blah in the form of attachment 2 and attachment 3. Attachment 2 becomes attachment 6 -- so I want it to automatically change to blah blah blah blah blah in the form of attachment 6 and attachment 3. |

It *sounds* like using sections, in MSWord. (But I'm not sure.)
Apparently there is or was a bug in the section name protocols in the 2010 version of MSWord. (And there might still be.) Here's a link that *might* be useful: working with sections You might also look at Indexing. Sorry, not much practical experience doing this. Good luck! |
