It looks like my GPU just shit the bed. I'm somewhat clueless when it comes to picking the parts out. Any ideas for a GPU upgrade? Anything else I should update?

Something like this: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1298952-REG/evga_06g_p4_6267_kr_geforce_acx_gtx_1060.html You are at the point though where you should be doing a rebuild/new build. So I would just get the video card for now and do a new build in a few months rather than trying to upgrade anything elese on your current system. |

Most games are still very much GPU bound, especially if you purchased a good CPU from the get go, as you did.
I'd definitely get a 16GB ram kit if your getting close under use, and get a GTX-1060 or 1070. They're great cards and super power efficient. Personally, I'd go with the GTX-1070. You'll get more years out of 8GB video memory (compared to the 1060's 6GB or 3GB) and the 1070 can even run games @ 4K (with some settings reduced). I'm running one with a 2560x1600 monitor and I'm stupid happy with it. |
