and they tell me it's the computers..
2 different machines, one does it worse than the other HP older, slower drops but not as often or as long. Toshiba newer, faster but drops, drops and drops and then stays connected for an hour maybe and drops again, seems like the longer I actually get a connection, the longer it takes to drop it, like the Modum/DSL etc were "warming up" frustration.. of course it isn't Dish's problem, its my computers and occasionally my tablet suffers the same issue.. this has been happening for about 5 weeks.. |

Could you provide a diagram of your netowrk setup? I have Dish / Hughesnet, and I have a receiver they issued to me that connects to my wireless router. If that's how yours is set up, it's probably the router that is causing issues. they keep telling me no..it is set up as described. the issue is with 2 computers, one far worse than the other and occasionally with my tablet..I am told the tablet requires less and that's why its not a chronic issue as with the laptops. end of my rope 18 mo on the contract and they can pound sand, there's been on going issues for 6 months this being the worst of it I'll go back to HughesNet..at least they were honest in their ineptitudes and made it right when there were issues.. |

It sounds like a router/AP issue and not a VSAT issue. Try plugging your computer in direct and see what happens. I had Hughesnet once upon a time, wasn't overly impressed but this was in Colorado. What part of Texas are you in? I may know a WISP in your area who could provide faster service at a similar price. |
