Last night my laptop did an update, like it sometimes does. This morning I turn it on, open IE and this pops up.

Nothing happens when  I click on "Done" and it locks up the browser. If I try to click on anything else, it just give me that annoying "ding" sound.

I need help. (Yes,  I've been told to stop using IE and get a different browser, but I can't even get on the internet to download it with this problem).

Thanks in advance.

What happens if you select the 'Your Current Settings' radio button and hit 'Done'?

Alternately, kill IE from task manager  and re-launch, see what happens.

I can kill it by logging off the computer, and when I re open IE, it pops up again. I hit done about a thousand times and nothing happens.

After you reboot but before you open IE, open an Administrator command prompt and run sfc /scannow. This may catch and fix the corruption.
