So I have an iPhone 5s and have had it for a while. I just
got a MacBook Air.  Everything is fine except when I get

a text or a call, my stupid computer rings and does the

text alerts, etc.  Is there a way to "uncouple" them just for

phone purposes???  What I mean by that, is I like that

they are coupled for iTunes and Netflix, just not the text

and phone calls.  Thanks in advance and please explain

like I am a toddler or an 87 year old, even though I'm

somewhere in between

Trying to remember what to disable. Been a while since I had an iPhone as Android is so much better. I want to say it is something in the iCould settings. You may just have to Google it. No clue what to select on the Mac as never used one.

disable "handoff" on your iphone.

Settings -> General -> Handoff & Suggested Apps -> Handoff.

Arfcom never fails.  Thanks! I will begin trying these suggestions.  I tried to google and
youtube answers, but wasn't coming up with anything.

Ok, trying this one.  Now just need to wait until someone calls or text me.  I don't think
the bluetooth suggestion was it since I checked and I have bluetooth turned off.  Also,

I looked in the notification setting and nothing jumped out to me that might suggest

that was the culprit. Again, thanks everybody.
