| Would a 5ms response time on a monitor be suitable for gaming? The 32" samsung I'm looking at has good reviews but no info about how it does with gaming and that 5ms lag/response. |

I assume you are talking about this monitor? http://www.samsung.com/us/computer/monitors/LS32D85KTSR/ZA I would avoid it for gaming. The input lag is rather high negating the lower response time. Not to mention this monitor seems is reported to use PWM dimming blow 30% brightness which can irritate/strain your eyes with flickering. http://www.trustedreviews.com/samsung-s32d850t-review-image-quality-uniformity-input-page-2 While not as large, the dell u2715h is a better overall monitor that is well reviewed: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/1098888-REG/dell_u2715h_27_2560x1440_widescreen_led_monitor.html Unfortunately it seems that there are no good 30+ inch standard monitors for gaming. |

Yep that's the one. I actually took my MBPr up to a Frys and they let me plug in to the display port. I simply want more code real estate. To be honest about 90% usage of this monitor would be for my daily work, my gaming PC comes on about 1 or 2 times a week at night. I do have a nice LG 27" that I've had for the last 2 years that I use for both gaming and daily work, I might just keep the 27" on the desk next to the 32" and switch to that for gaming. |

You know you want to. |
