Is there anyway to boost your DSL modem speed beyond what the service provider has set as the limit?

TIA

Ain't gonna happen. The speed is set at the telephone switching office.

Colinjay, thanks for the link.  I will definitely check it out.

My DSL provider (verizon) has a max speed of 768k for residential, and I am only running about 415-450k.  They state that the deficeit is cause by the quality of the phone line itself.  They are a bit weathered where I live and I was wondering if there is a signal booster or such to help out the transmission of the signal.  Nothing illegal, but I open to new ideas[;)].
