My Windows update seems to be having issues with one update in particular....KB3035583.

Tried all sorts of suggestions but still cannot get it to run. I think, but am not sure, it may have something to do with Windows 10. Right now I run Win7 Pro 64 bit. I tried  to upgrade to Win10 online but that would not take. From what I've read Win10 will not upgrade unless Win7 is fully updated. Sort of a Catch-22 for me.

Any ideas?

Thank you.

That is one of the "You really want Win10" updates from M$. Do you have a blocker enabled? (GWX_Control_Center, maybe?)

There's probably a way to delete the folder where it's hiding, so it'll redownload. Google will probably help you with it. Good luck, and may Steve Jobs have mercy on your soul.

Here is the link for the standalone downloaded update.  You can try to download and install it from the link.

I grabbed a Windows 7 machine that hadn't been updated in a while and went to update it to windows 10 this week, it didn't work.  So I ran a search for something like "windows 7 update hangs" and got back several things that had to be done to fix it -- there's at least a couple of manual downloads from MS that will solve your problem, just download them and run them and wait until they're done, then your windows update will work again.

Also clear out Windows Update cache and then try and install the updates again.

Well, the update finally proceeded on it's own somehow. Now I'm stuck with a partially functional PC. Start button does not function, icons missing from the taskbar, cannot restore to Win7 as the backup/restore point wasn't completed.

Looking like I'll have to reload Win7 or try to get a Win 10 disk...ugh..
