Nothing spectacular. Built my own gaming machine. It's not the most powefull, but it's more than the average gamer has (i7-4470k (4.4 ghz OC), ASUS Maximus VI Extreme, 16gb Dominator Platinum 2133 RAM, 2x GTX 780 Ti SC in SLI).

What I'm wanting now is a small and compact general use PC. Maybe somethibg like a Mini-ITX build, but at least powerful enough to run moderate programs such as Photoshop and Illustrator. Mainly to be used for some digital artwork and making stuff with my new plotter. Got to be on the low cost end also.  I don't know much about building a cheap PC .

Really, I want a PC, because I don't have enough space on my desk for my new plotter with my current gaming PC and 3 monitors. So I'm forced to set the plotter on another desk on the other side if the room, and the USB cable won't reach my gaming PC

Or I guess I could go the cheaper route and find some wireless USB modem thingie and hope that it works...they're like $50 (not a wireless card).

But in reality, a second PC would be nice

Current laptop is slow as shit and old. Probably going to get wife unit a Surface so she can use it for work.

I don't need a laptop.

well i don't see why you would want another computer to just run the printer. if you want it to keep is cheap just get a re-ferb or off lease computer.

to me it would be a waist as why do the designing on another computer when you have a beast of a computer 3 ft away? you will still need to ether get a new monitor or confiscate one from the main rig when you use the other unless you remote desktop in.

i was thinking a nice laptop would allow you to design what ever you want where ever you are and just plug it in when you are ready to print.

I don't want a USB cable running across the room. I have another monitor that is connected to the laptop, along with a keyboard and mouse. I may end up looking for a small end table and see if that will work next to my desk. Hopefully that won't take up too much space up against the wall (8' desk on one side, and a 6' desk on the other side for cleaning guns/whatever, with a 3'x7' shelving unit up against that)
