Just as the title says. I want a small Chromebook that won't break the bank. I am actually looking at a refurbished Acer C710-2457 from Wal-Mart because it has 4GB RAM and only $192.13. Most of the newer ones only have 2GB.

I am looking for light, SSD, RAM, and small screen. Thoughts, suggestions, links to better deals? |

I think they're all pretty much alike, barring the Pixel.
If it breaks, you just junk it (I don't think anyone bothers to fix them), get another one, sign into your Google account, and ... poof! all your shit is there. I think Chromebooks are wonderful, and you don't have all the windows BS. Many concentrate on what they don't do, instead of what they actually do. If you have a stable and reliable internet connection, they should do about 95% of what most internet geeks need to do, and for many, they do 100%. ETA: Reviewers described the touch pad as "touchy" and weren't impressed with the battery life. Plus, it has a 2.5" mechanical hard drive, which may not make it the best choice. Think about spending a little bit more, and getting a better one, still without breaking the bank. |

Should I go with a new one that only has 2GB of RAM or the refurb with 4GB of RAM?? Posting from my Acer c720 with 2 gigs of ram. It has never hiccuped on me, and I usually have 8 tabs open. edit: and the link above is for the old model. The c720 has a better processor that sips power. |
I HATE the piece of crap Dell laptop I am using now...
I am going to pick this one up tomorrow... Samsung Silver 11.6" Chromebook PC with Samsung Exynos 5 Dual Processor and Google Chrome OS |

I ended up getting the Acer C270 for $199 instead of the Samsung. After reading comparison reviews the Acer came out ahead.
This one... I like it so far and I think that it will do just what I want it to do. I think I can even play Clash of Clans on this
Posting this from the office on my hotspot from my phone. It is a little slow but my signal sucks here in this building... |
