I've recently started using Chrome. Whenever I open a page it gives me 6 choices, of which I only use 2. How can I get Chrome to open up to my selected Web page (e.g. Google)? I've tried navigating through the setup pages with no luck.

You can have Chrome open your homepage on program startup by going to the settings button, then clicking settings (fifth from the bottom), then in the On Startup area select "Open a specific page or set of pages".

That won't help with your new tab thing, of course - there's no default option for that, but you can try this extension: New Tab Redirect and see if that does what you need done.

If you do intend to use google as your new tab page, you can try just hitting ctrl+t to open a new tab, then immediately begin typing - your cursor will be in the omnibox, and as soon as you hit enter it'll search for whatever you typed.

Alternatively, you can set your home page to be whatever you like (settings -> Appearance -> show home button (you don't need to show the home button for this to work, but that's the easiest place to set your homepage)). Then, to get to the home page just hold down ALT and tap HOME. To open it in a new window, just ctrl+t, then alt+home.
