I know, normally don't see requests for this in UC, but I am beyond frustrated. I got a iPhone 5, on iOS 6.1.4, latest iTunes. The only feature that I absolutely CAN NOT stand is the photo management(or lack thereof).
When you sync photo's FROM your PC to the device, it creates a Photo Library album with the photos in it, AND it makes an album that is the same name as the folder they came from off the PC. WHY?!!?! You can't move pics from the Camera Roll to another album. All it does is create a pointer object(shortcut) to the original pic that is in the camera roll. WHY?!?!?!?!? I can't find any Windows based software that will actually WORK to manage photos on my phone. Most say they work, but apparently they don't. I have tried many this afternoon. Is there any relief for this? |

Without a Jailbreak, no third party program is going to be able to access the root files on the phone.
As for jailbreak'g the phone, that boat sailed after IOS 6.1.2, so looks like your going to have to wait until IOS 7 comes out, then the long wait for someone to jail break it afterwards. As for if you did jailbreak the phone back at IOS 6.1.2 or before, then cydia should have a copy of your old SHSH before the update to 6.1.4, so you can down load the old SHSH, stitch it into a copy of the old IOS, and downgrade the IOS on the phone without having to have it resigned by apple (apple will not sigh an older IOS, so your not able to downgrade with a saved SHSH from the old IOS). Short of this to down grade the ISO to a jailbreak version to get access to the root directly, and the long expected wait for ios 7 and the jail break afterwards for it, a new Samsung S4 rooted should be looking real good right about now. |

Yeh, I was starting to resign myself that maybe something will be updated in the next iOS version. But the question still remains, WHY you can't do that easily even in iTunes? Or is it a deficiency of iTunes on Windows? Can this be done easily on a Mac? |
| I just use Photostream to get pic from my MBP to my iPhone. Don't even have to plug it in. Back in the iOS 3 and 4 days (back when I still used Windows) I'd throw the phone into storage device mode and then just drag and drop pictures. I also never had an issue syncing photos from iTunes. |
