Anyone know how to remove the thin, vertical black lines along the left side of a paragraph? They aren't borders. We use them as "change bars" to highlight changes. I Googled, but it was of no help.  It said to "Accept All Changes," but it didn't work.  I can't click on them.

The only thing I found thay works is to use the "Remove Formatting" function, but that screws the entire outline up (removes the outline numbering format, coloring, bold, etc).

Surely there is an easier way!

Thanks for your help.  I've got a handle on that issue, but now I have ANOTHER one...

We have Headers and Footers in the document.  I'm trying to change the page numbering in the Footers.  I have UNLINKED the Headers and Footers, but still cannot get it to accept individual page numbers.  For example, it should read:  "3-1, 3-2, 3-3, etc." for the page numbers, but when I try to change one it will change several others to the same page number (resulting in three or four "3-4s" for example).

Any ideas on that one?  I cannot believe how frustrating this is.  D'oh.

Man, I wish I could, but it is a confidential document.  Thank you though!

Section breaks. You have either too many or too few of them, and in the wrong spots. (Easy to do with Word.)

Do you have Formatting Marks turned on? That might reveal some stray breaks.

Haha, I don't even know what "Section Breaks" are.

I took over this project in our department.  This is an existing manual that is updated a couple of times a year.  I didn't have any input on creating it, and now I'm in charge of editing it with the new changes.  I guess this is what you get when you give a pilot a computer-related task to do!
