| I think I have something my puter is horribly slow. I use Superantispyware and AVG but, I keep seeing stuff in the history like STS448 and I get these hijacks to different pages too. I tried to download Malwarebytes but it wouldn't load. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

Path of least resistance might be to restart into a system restore to a known point when the computer didn't exhibit this behavior. If you're lucky, the restores weren't corrupted and you can then begin the process of downloading and executing whatever AV software you like.
I'm sure some of the others who deal with this sort of thing a lot more than I do will be along with more advice and options. |

Download malware bites on a different computer, reboot the computer in safe mode (f8 on startup), and install and run. I can download it fine, it just won't install I'd still try safe mode. ok, if that doesn't work ? What is another good anti-malware that is free? |

My problem is that it has been going on for long time and I just realized what the problem was. Yes I'm that completely computer illerate ![]() A UT fan actually trying to make fun of someone else? lol....no reason to bring UT into it but since you did at least when we try to use big words like "illiterate" we try to spell it correctly. It is doubly funny that a Bama fan misspelled that word in particular

Do you have a solution to the problem or are you just a comedian with a desire (and need) to practice your material. |

Burn one of these to cd (probably the AVG Rescue CD) and boot your computer off of it. |
|
Boot into safe mode (press f8 on computer start up and you should get a menu with safe mode being one of the options) after you are in safe mode install Malwarebytes and do a full system scan. Once that completes reboot the same way, and select safe mode with networking. Now update Malwarbytes and do another full system scan. You could probably do safe mode with networking first and update.
Alternately you could download Avira AntiVir Rescue System Downloads page burn it to a disk and then boot from the disk into the rescue environment and run a virus scan. Your computer might be set up to boot from the cd drive already (look for a message that says something like "hit any button to boot from disk") or if it doesn't, most computers will tell you to press a certain key for "boot options" and then select the cd drive. Just to be safe, download a copy of hitman pro and run that as well. Link Remember to only run one virus scan at a time and to only have one running on your computer in real time. |
