Truth in advertising: I have done very, very little in the way of web design so could use a hand.
There are two instances in which it would be very helpful to have a scheduling system. One is a church application (somewhat complex) and the other is my oldest daughter's babysitting website (not so complex). Neither one is a paying job. The church scenario is as follows: - should be capable of handling volunteer teams (creating, modifying, etc) - should be capable of scheduling those teams - should be capable of sending schedule reminders to the various teams at customizable intervals I would like to help my daughter get her website set up so that her availability schedule is viewable by parents who have a login. The schedule would only have to display time that she is available, and she should have the ability to easily edit as her availability changes. This would enable them to plan their time more efficiently and would avoid unnecessary phone calls ... theoretically. Ideas? Platforms? Something like Drupal? (I've tried searching Drupal, but I think I must be using the wrong search terms.) Thanks! |

Not sure what kind of infrastructure you have available, but I would give the free version of Zimbra a spin and see how far off it is and in what aspects http://www.zimbra.com/products/zimbra-open-source.html
There are certainly simpler solutions, but will likely have you gluing the pieces (mail, calendar, user/group management) together somehow that is a pain. |
| Fpr your daughter it sounds like a simple public calendar is all that is needed. I'd suggest creating a google account and using google calendar www.google.com/calendar/or a similar free service like www.localendar.com/. |
