Just another reason to get pissed off at VMware, 8 has not even been out a full year, and now they release 9, plus they want $119 to upgrade.

I am really starting to hate VMware

Pretty much everyone agrees that it should not be a major release, it should be 8.1 or such. Everyone but VMware that is......

Everyone complains about MS licensing, but VMware takes the cake

So just use Vmware 8.

Nobody forcing you to upgrade. I often skip 1 or 2 generations of software to save money... will be doing that with VMW workstation.

I would, but it does not look like they are going to have native support for server2012 in Workstation 8

Virtual Box does.

Ouch, I was going to look into this as well because I am planning out first Server 2012 installs for implementation soon.

Virtual Box does.

Virtual Box != VMWare Workstation.

8 will have to do for me.

I've been convinced for some time that vmware is doing these incremental updates simply to bilk customers for more money.
