Just got an Ubuntu server set up for the gaming community I run and I'm not really sure what the best option is for connecting to it remotely from my Win7 rig.

The xrdp method is the only one I've tried so far and it doesn't seem to work right.  It loads and performs extremely slow and the Ubuntu desktop I see via the remote connection is not the same as the actual ubuntu desktop that should be displaying(i.e toolbars and such).  A friend told me about TightVNC but I have yet to try that, figured I'd ask here before doing anything else.

So what's currently the best way to remotely connect to an Ubuntu box from Win7?

Teamviewer works pretty good.

If you're running Ubuntu server use Putty via SSH.  It's all command line though.  I use this for my minecraft server.

If you're using Ubuntu Desktop I recommend TightVNC.

We were running Ubuntu server and using Putty but I wanted something more user friendly for the other staffers that would have access to this server which is why I put Ubuntu desktop on it.

Cool. Let us know what you end up using.  I like TightVNC because it's easy.  But that Teamviewer also looks pretty interesting.
