what should i be looking for in a laptop processor?  i was recomended an Intel i5 for my use.(general house-hold use, with occasional netflix/hulu streaming)  however, i see plenty of laptops with AMD processors.

this laptop will not be used as a gaming computer.  and it needs to last a few years.

so, which AMD processor is similar to the Intel i5?

oh, and by the way, i am not tech savy.  please explain to me in normal people words.

CPU wise there is no reason to consider AMD for a laptop.  They are thoroughly beat by intel in performance, power draw and heat output.

Any 2nd gen intel i3,i5, i7 processor will suit your needs.

So it comes down to the type/size of laptop you want and features you have a preference for.
