If your monitor has two inputs, you can use a free program called "input director" to control both from the same KB/mouse as long as the "master" system is running.
Run video from both computers into monitor, which is switched manually. Run audio from slave system output to master system input. (you hear both through same headsets/speakers) I find it best/easiest to disable screen transitions except for hotkey press (programmed a key on logitech G15). So I have to press a key on keyboard and manually switch monitor to different input. All for free (unless you need to buy an audio cable). The only thing I'm not sure about is whether you need USB for something besides KB/Mouse. Anything else is going to require a manual cable change or KVM. |
