| if you leave your phone synched to itunes you will get the download |
|
Sounds like some good stuff for the iPad, I'm downloading now. The big thing I'm liking is the wireless syncing. Since my USB ports won't charge the thing I have to swap cables to charge or sync, which is annoying. Hopefully this will fix that. |

downloading now... my internet is far too slow though.. I don't like waiting..
First i had to download some PC updates (iTunes update, OS X Lion backup update, etc..) that was 950MB, then iOS 5 itself another 800MB. On a 3Mbit line, its taking an hour and a half.. |
i left it downloading, then went to sleep. woke up with the phone working on 4.5 had a voicemail and a few txt messages. Turn the screen on my computer and it said the download failed. Opened Itunes and it requested to do a restore, it restore the phone, but restored it to 5.0. Im concerned now

apparently I can't restore back to 4.0 i had done multiple backup jobs previously before this... The one thing to be said for jailbreaking. Keep tabs on your previous blob (authentication tokens for that specific firmware) and the full .ipsw files for that version. |

I downloaded it yesterday just 10 minutes after being released. I updated my Verizon iPhone 4 and an AT&T iPad 1. Fortunately, I didn't have any problems. The update takes a while because it seems to wipe the device and reinstall everything. While all that was going on I updated to OS X 10.7.2 without problems. I changed all of my e-mail accounts to forward to the new iCloud account. It's working very well up to this point. I can read something on my iPhone and almost instantly, it's marked as read on my MBP and iPad. Same thing when deleting an e-mail. Very useful for me because I hate having to delete 20 emails a day from 3 different devices. Photo stream is working well also. You can take a picture from the iPhone and the photo shows up on all other enabled devices. Find my iPhone app works well for everything. Each device has it and it will display the location of your Mac/iPhone/iPad/ect on a map and you can type a message to display. You can also clear the drives remotely if you want. Obviously didn't try to do that. The reminders app works pretty well also. I made a test to alert when I left my house. The alert came about 100 yards down the road from my house. I haven't used iMessage yet. I haven't tried to wirelessly sync yet or edit photos. Some people have reported battery life problems. Doesn't seem too different to me though.

everything works great, except for this issue i'm having where the sync hangs at "waiting for changes to be applied" or "waiting for files to copy over". this happens over USB or wifi...
i've been googling it, found one guy with the same problem, and some others with a similar error... nothing suggested has fixed it |

Guess I've been extremely lucky. |

Put it on my 3GS last night. No problems installing, and runs great. Seems a little faster/smoother than iOS 4.x was. So an improvement on the 3GS? The gf has a 3GS and we were afraid to upgrade her and have the phone be slow as a dog.. For those wondering about battery life. I think iOS5 is much better than 4.5 or whatever were were just on... My battery performance is noticeably better now :) |

My battery performance is noticeably better now :) A little less laggy and seems more responsive overall, less freezing and stuttering through tasks. Battery is a little lower than normal this evening, but I've been messing with it all day figuring out the new features. Just put it on my wife's phone too with similar results. |

under accessiblity > LED flash for alerts. is this working for anyone when its enabled? Works for me. The funny thing is you have to turn it on, close the settings, go back in turn it off, close settings, go back in and turn it on again and then it works fine. Odd. The thing to remember is that it does not work unless the front screen is black. ![]()

under accessiblity > LED flash for alerts. is this working for anyone when its enabled? Just tried it. Nothing. No flash for text, email, or phone call. Custom vibrate works though which is kinda cool since my phone is almost always on silent. I set up some custom vibrate tones - one specifically for my wife and then another for other important contacts so I can ignore the rest while at work. |

Sometimes an app won't act right so you have to close it and start it back up. |

My battery seems to be going dead quicker.
I've magically lost a few apps & some music that I had to re-sync to get back. Tonite I power cycled my phone and now I have no music at all. I can't get the wireless sync to work. I love my phone but hate apple. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |
