Tried it. The free demo of it didn't do any good for me and I don't want to spend any ca$h on something that doesn't seem to work...
I DID try something on this page: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/10things/10-ways-to-recover-a-corrupted-word-document/952 They suggest saving the document in a different format than the .doc file it was in, like .rtf or .txt. I tried both of these and at least I am able to get the original text back without the Word formatting. There are some other things they suggest, like using chkdsk to see if the corrupt file is due to a corrupt disk system. |

is this on a server or workstation/ laptop? server have shadow copy enabled?
