the other day, my computer power supply failed.. replaced it Saturday, everything seemed to work OK, except I was getting an intermittent message about the Ethernet connection being lost.

my computer is plugged into an gigabit switch, everything else seems to be working OK through this switch, except my computer.
I've swapped ports and cables and still get the same intermittent connection through the switch.
if I take the feed coming into the switch and plug it directly into my computer, I get a rock solid connection

anyone seen this?  I've seen a switch port(s) up and fail, but it was hard and could be duplicated on other devices.

I'm thinking maybe my computers NIC is the problem, but it's built into my MB.  guess I could try a NIC card..... hmmmmm

Does sound like your wired NIC is fried, unfortunately.

The good news is that you can get a replacement gigabit NIC for all of $10+shipping.
