Personally, I'd pick something from Acer in that price range.
Out of all of the inexpensive brands that I have tried, I've had by far the best longevity with their monitors. Furthermore, when warranty work is needed, their returns department is better to deal with than certain other brands. Brands that I would specifically avoid are Viewsonic and Asus, unless you're handy with a soldering iron. |

I've got a 23" HD monitor that I got from woot.com that is an off brand refurb that I paid $150 for. I've had zero problems and I've had it close to 2 years I think. |
