I was given a wireles router G-Link DI-524. I've got the model and serial number on the unit, but no WEP code. Any clues on how to get it? D-Link doesn't seem to have 24hr Tech support and I'm thinkng they no longer supprt this model. previous owner has no paperork for the device.

Maybe just hit the reset button on the bottom/back?

reset it then there will be no security until you set it. If you have that confused with the set up code, the default would be admin.

1. Do a reset.

2. Plug everything back in.

3. Enter this ip into your browser:  192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

I need an encryption code. On setup, it asks for a 10 digit code. When I try the encryption stage, it asks for the WEP code. I set up a wireless router in the past and it came with a code for encyption I was hoping to use this router, but I can't have my network unsecured.

Sounds more like a carrier modem with built in router.  They are preset with a wep code, it will be on the back of the unit or the bottom on a label

I'll do the reset and start over. Thanks all.
