[ARCHIVED THREAD] - scroll bar lock help

the company bought me a new laptop (getac) and the issue that I have is; when I'm typing a msg like this one, when I get to the bottom of the displayed box, the scroll bar will not stay down ie. I can still type but then need to drag the scroll bar down to see what I typed. when I start typing again it "bounces" back up to the the top. it's likely some small issue or oversight on my part that I'll feel dumb about asking after someone tells me what I'm doing wrong

Have you tried a different browser?

Is it a netbook?

no , it's a full size laptop that was given to me to replace my old panasonic cf51.
as for a browser it's MS IE7 running on windows xp sp3

nevermind, i got it.

what i had to do was go to the IE tools, and click on compatability view ....

like i said - something stupid on my part, but it seemed to work.
