I put a word document into the FTP system we have at work.
I tried to download it to my home computer, but now its a .zip folder
Help!
I need to get this document finished tonight, and yet I can't seem to find any way to turn this into a usable document now.
Any ideas? I found a folder inside of this (in XML format) which is full of random computer-speak, and then lines of text that appear to be the entire document, separated by all these lines of randomness.
Thanks to anyone who can solve this clusterfuck with only my crappy description.
BTW i'm on a windows 7 machine.
if it helps

What version of word? Same version at home as at work?

They moved to the docx format for 2007/2010, IIRC. No longer just one file - now, several files in XML format. /hack//spit/

I'd copy the zip file locally, see it is readable that way.

A friend of mine used this to convert .docx to .doc, with good results.
