| What is the easiest way for a person convert cassettes into MP3s using his home computer or laptop?? |
|
I'm moving vinyl and CD's to my HD with Audacity. If the input jacks on your computer allow for it, you can do the same thing with cassettes. My laptop allows for connecting my CD player. If I'm using the desktop I plug into the sound card. Audacity will also allow you to adjust the sound level and do other editing if you wish. http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ |
| Thank you gentlemen for your replies. I do have one problem. When I hook the player into the mic I cannot hear the music,( I have a cord from the headphone jack on the player to the microphone jack in the PC) I do not know when to stop recording. How do you suggest I overcome this?? (I found my old cassette collection and there are some great songs on there I would like to have in MP3) |

(I found my old cassette collection and there are some great songs on there I would like to have in MP3) Get a pen and paper, write down the names of all the tapes you have that you like. Goto the used CD store, and buy said CDs. If they don't have them, eBay. Take the cassettes and toss them in the trash. If you do it my way, you will be much happier with the results as far as sound quality, track length, and time saved. |
