Ok, when I XP I had no problems with the setup like I have, and now that I have 7 I am having a tough time figuring this one out.
Sound card is a sound blaster X FI, puter is custom built. speakers are creative 5.1 (older I know) how I have the setup. I have no audio jacks in the front of my computer, the only jacks I have are on the sound card. So what I had done is to get a Y connector into the audio output of the sound card. the one plug goes to the 5.1 speaker setup, the other is for my headset (w/mic). The mic is plugged into the correct jack. Problem is that the 5.1 speakers work ok, but I have hardly anything from the headset. when I go into the audio setup/properties to try to correct that, I can see the headset icon but it is grayed out. How can I fix this? |
