I'm generally good with computers, but I am finally having a problem I cant quite figure out. I have an Acer Aspire 6930, and the problem is 99.9 percent of the time, it wont boot. On occasion, and a lot this week, its booted on the 3rd or fourth try, but as of this morning, no success at all. Sometimes the BIOS does appear when it doesn't boot, and if I am really lucky actually starts loading windows then stops. I have searched online and haven't found much of anything about my problem. Any Ideas? |

Overheating is something I considered. My warranty just passed a month ago, which is why I am hoping to fix this myself. I have the guide on how to disassemble and reassemble the laptop, so I plan to try that tomorrow morning. To look and see if anything is obviously messed up and maybe see if something became disconnected. Someone just did tell me it could be processor or motherboard. |

Quoted: What happens if you pull the battery out and try to boot it only on the charger? Same as when my battery is in place. Will not boot. Although today it seems like the laptop wants to get to BIOS almost every time and just hang there. I cant get to Windows anymore, not even letting me get close to it. |

Does anything look hinkey in the bios? Does the bios see the hard drive and all the ram? Are there any boot options you can set? |

Well I cant do anything with the BIOS, even when it starts. When it starts though, I would assume it reads everything correctly since Windows starts and everything functions normally. But I cannot Access the BIOS at all. I don't know where to begin to fix the BIOS if it is a BIOS issue, since I cannot get into Windows at all now. |
