What's your poison....err language of choice?

The tool depends on the job.  For work, it's C and assembler.  For pleasure, it's Python and Objective-C.

I find C most enjoyable.

Non-drag-and-drop asp.net/C#.

You will typically find me working with curly bracket programming languages.

Well.  That went nowhere.

C makes me happy but I use C++ and C# a lot more often.  Some MatLab, MIPS assembly, and various web stuff on occasion as well.

Started this job using VB. Moved to Delphi. Now using Java.

I've heard rumblings of .NET (probably C#) but I don't see that happening (though other dev groups in the company are using it).

I just downloaded Python this week to see what that's all about.

Started in VB.NET and have since started the move towards C#.  I also dabble in ASP.NET from time to time.

I haven't written anything in years, and even then it was usually simplistic
but I mainly used C++, towards the end using visual studio 6 as my compiler and editing environment
previously for school I had done some C and one or two java apps

I've done C and C++ all through school.  Did Delphi at my first job and didn't like it.

Have been doing C# for the last 3 years and think it's nothing short of awesome, especially the simplicity with doing things since C# 3.0 showed up.

LINQ, lambda expressions etc.

Very awesome stuff.

Just started transitioning to Test Driven Dev.  Changes your whole mode of thinking but in a good way.

My current favorite is Ruby –– very elegant and powerful.  The Rails framework makes building web applications very easy.

Other languages I've programmed in professionally at some point or another:

- SAS
- SQL/QMF
- C
- Lotus Notes (blech - what a POS)
- PowerBuilder
- Java - Swing, Struts, Tapestry, Hibernate, Spring, iBatis, etc.

I'm playing with Mono now.

Perl, but I have to use php a lot more.  I'm not a real programmer, I just do it for a living.

C and Ruby. Perl when there is no alternative.

Frameworks and Toolkits: Rails, Sproutcore, GTK, RubyGTK, MacRuby, and HotCocoa.
