This is my day for questions. I am looking for a good compact digital camcorder for my wife. Must be small enough to slide in her purse and low to mid price, otherwise I am open to all suggestions. Thanks for any help!

I have a Flip Mino HD.  It's nice, but if you want to edit make sure you have a program that can edit MP4 format, or you have to take an extra step of using the FlipShare software to create a movie (which is in MPEG I believe) and then use windows movie maker (if that's what you use) to edit.  Also, you're limited to 60 minutes of record time since there's no external memory port.  But otherwise a really nice compact camera that takes excellent video.

Be sure to get the "Flip Mino"...it has a built-in battery that recharges when plugged into the USB of the computer. The regular Flip uses 2xAA, which last about 1 hour (the same time of video it'll record)

The Flip isn't an ultimate, high-end, studio quality camera...but for most normal people, it shoots adequate pictures. Here's a sample:
