Hey guys I'm jsut starting to play around with this stuff and I have a copy of Jasc PS.  What is the best way to blend the edges of two photos?

Select the marguee tool and feather the pixel radius to desired effect. Start out at 20 pixels.
Then drag the tool over the whole image. Copy and paste. Delete the original layer.
If you want it to fade more, set the pixel radius higher.

or

Use the eraser tool and choose a large brush. Then set the opacity to desired level. Start off at 35%
and play around with it. It will take a few tests for you to get the hang of it.

Blur tool can do get you there as well.

Sometimes what I'll do is select the object (depeneding on if it's in it's own layer you can hit CTRL+right click to get a marquee just around the object), then go into modify, contract (usually only need to do 1 or 2 pixels), and then invert the slection. Then select and use a blur filter. This will blur only the out edge of the object you're working with. It's a little more complex but the edge blur will be more consistent this way.
