Well, since I got my camera a few months ago, I have been using Lexar Professional 64 gig cards. These are the 633x 95Mb/s cards. Good cards, but sure seemed slow on write speed. Just bought a Sandisk Extreme PRO 32 gig, 95 MB/s card. Night and day difference on write speed. Even with the buffer full, it writes fast enough to continue to take 2 frames a second where the Lexar card would bog down and take 2 to 3 seconds to catch up enough to take a couple more pics. The Lexar has a write speed of 45MB/s where the SanDisk has a write speed of 90MB/s. Moral of this story? While read speed is important, write speed is what you need. |

The catch is some cameras can't benefit from using faster cards, so spending the money isn't worth it. That said, those are the cards I use (in a 64gb size) and I recommend them to almost everyone. It makes a huge difference with a D7100, which has an entirely despicable buffer to begin with |
