So yeah, I rented a D810 and 14-24 2.8f for some landscape shots.  My mom wants some large shots to print off for the living room, so I figured what the hey.  I needed a birthday present for her anyhow.

Biggest things I can ever stress if renting a camera
-reset it to factory settings, this guy had the exposure all fucked up.
-check the format for saving files.  I didn't and ended up with tiffs, not my preferred raw.
-make sure you have enough memory.  I ended up snagging one of the SD's from my D7200 mid trip.
-chimp every now and again.  I lost a few shots due to exposure on my part (trusting an unknown camera) and the tiffs that I couldn't save were too blown out.

Beyond that, damn the 810 is a nice camera.  I need one.    Pull up a seat if you want, these are eco friendly.

Yeah, 800 series files are huge. (36MP, well what was going to happen)
I had to buy a new computer and new card readers when I first got mine. and yeah they can fill chips fast. I get around 400 shots on a 32gig CF.

But man what that CMOS does with color and hue.

I use my personal D800 more at work than the D4s they supply.

Would love to try out the D5.
