Decided to start scanning some old negatives; here's some from our Inca Trail hike back in 2001.  All shot with a Canon Eos Rebel, 35mm color film.  Some of the negatives haven't held up very well.  I'll add as I continue the scanning process.

How was the Roasted Guinea Pig?

The UV index there, in Cuzco, has been known to reach 25.

Besides backpacking in for elk in Wyoming or Montana it's my dream vacation. Thanks for sharing op.

Not bad.  The alpaca stew, on the other hand, was nasty foul.

And that UV will burn you in a heartbeat.  Just standing around outside on the trail you could feel the roast, even when overcast.

I highly recommend it.  We spent 10 days in Peru, 5 on the trail, a few in Cusco, and a few in Lima.

Stop & Rob, Inca Trail style.  Believe it or not, just past this store I saw a discarded McDonald's drink cup on the ground.  The closest McDonald's is back in Cusco, miles and miles of road and trail away.

View of Dead Woman's Pass (13,680', highest point on the trail), on the way up.  Probably 2 miles away.  Took me about two hours to hike from this spot.  Looks like it's "just up there".

Great pictures, I haven't really left north america, but people that go to Peru are required to bring me Inca Cola

I'm still kicking myself for not bringing some back.  I mean, hell, I brought back about a pound of grocery-store coca leaves.  Customs didn't bat an eye.

Inca Cola, however, does taste like shit.  Super-sweet bubblegum flavor.  With an almost electric piss-yellow color.  Like you've been popping B-12s for a week.

One of my friends and his parents have been globehopping forever and they bring me whatever undrinkable crap they can find lol.
I liked it, I think they had it at World of Coke in Atlanta when I was down there BEFORE I WAS MARRIED..

Now I wonder what it would be like with the D7100 (or better!) and some good glass.  Like the 11-16, the 35 prime, and a fast medium zoom.  I was hoarding shots as I had a limited supply of film and didn't want to "waste" any.  One of our group had a digicam and I poo-pooed it; thinking that digital was not the way to go.  Little did I know...
