i take alot of pictures of fish i catch but when i get home and look at the pics a 7lb bass will look like a1lb bass. what lense would show the size of the fish better.
im using a nikon 18-55 now

What focal length are you using?

35mm is a "normal" field of view.

If you're at 18mm it's going give you a wider field of view but it will seem to push things farther away so it can have that shrinking effect.

If you use a short (like 18mm) and have the fish close to the camera and everything else farther back, you can make the fish look gigantic in comparison to the background.

That's how a lot of those monster fish/dog/alligator/bigfoot pictures are done.



You could also just admit you caught a 1lb bass

In other words, use the widest zoom and hold that 1lb. bass out in front of you with your arms extended toward the camera to make yourself look smaller and the fish look bigger.
