What is a good high end camera that’s the lower end of the cost spectrum for high end cameras?  I like taking a lot of pictures of motion (kids, shooting), landscape and sky shots, and up close artistic shots of nature or firearms, both low light and day time.  So far I haven’t found a camera that can take decent pictures of all of those things, probably because I don’t know what I'm looking for.  I also want to be able to have quick follow up shots and utilize an SD or micro SD or other type of SD cards, and removable lenses.  Considering the price of high end cameras, price is an issue but my budget for one depends on the price range of higher end cameras.  Also what features and specs should I pay attention to?

Sorry if these questions are vague and uniformed but thanks in advance

motion (kids, shooting) -- high shutter speed, continuous focus system
landscape and sky shots -- to most folks this translates to wide-angle + deep depth of field + long exposures + tripod
and up close artistic shots of nature or firearms -- macro lens or extension tubes
low light -- low-noise high-ISO capabilities
daytime -- every camera works well in good light.

Any low end DSLR will get you started.  The question will become what special purpose lenses (if any) will you need.
The normal kit lens will cover your kids at home and in the park plus your landscape and sky shots.
The kit lens might also work well enough to also cover your early macro attempts, depending on what you really have in mind.

From here you probably need to ask more specific questions.

The most helpful info you could give is what your price range is. If you don't need the latest and greatest you can pick of a 5d mkii for $1400 or so, kits are on sale 24-104 for I dont know how much right now. The AF is not the best for your action shots but it's going to be fine for kids in the yard, it's 4fps so kinda meh but still fine for kids in the yard. Do you want FF or crop...Nikon or Canon...Other options are the 6d and d600 which are both in the $2000 range for bodys. Or go used, pick up a 1dmark iii for like $1000...once you go pro body nothing is the same!

Really give us a price point, do you care about what brand it is?

I'd look at a D7000.  Very capable camera that will excel at all the kinds of photography you will do.
