Took this with a little point and shoot on a dog sledding trip up in the hills a bit south of Jackson hole year before last...one of my favorite memory provokers.

I can't seem to get the right code to show the picture to display full size inside the post...how do I do that?

Your post is formatted as a hyperlink to the page the image is posted on, with the physical location of the image as the "link" ... probably auto-shrinks because of that.

My post is simply an image URL pointing directly to the physical location of the photograph, instead of being a hyperlink.  Next time select the image insert icon instead of the hyperlink (it looks like a postcard of mountains with a sun over them) and paste the image URL there.

To better illustrate what I'm saying, this is the code in your post (brackets spaced to strip formatting);

< a href="http://www.4shared.com/photo/d0jxcChY/JH_Dog_Sled-w.html" target="_blank" >[ url=http://dc305.4shared.com/img/d0jxcChY/JH_Dog_Sled-w.jpg ]http://dc305.4shared.com/img/d0jxcChY/JH_Dog_Sled-w.jpg[ /url ]< /a >

and mine;

[ url=http://dc305.4shared.com/img/d0jxcChY/s7/JH_Dog_Sled-w.jpg ]http://dc305.4shared.com/img/d0jxcChY/s7/JH_Dog_Sled-w.jpg[ /url ]

One more question if I may...when you use that code format and preview the post do you see the picture or the code text such that you don't actually see the picture until you submit the post?  I'm thinking this is where I went wrong because I tried all 3 formats and picked the only one where I actually saw a picture in the preview.

thanks for your help.

You see the actual picture before you submit.  When you insert the photo using the image button in the post, the surrounding tags are actually [ img ] and [ /img ] without the spaces, but the site changes them after the fact to the [ url ] tags.

testing - please ignore

This is getting ridiculous...I have never had any trouble posting pictures on any other forum I participate in. I even copied the URL you provided and it does not work for me either pasting it directly or using the insert button.  I have tried all the formats provided by 4Share and the only thing that remotely works is the same as the original with the thumbnail and link. There is something basically wrong with what I am doing or my system?

You somehow managed to get double format tags in your post.  When you use the insert image button, by default it puts an "http://" in the popup dialog box.  Remove that, and just paste your image URL into the empty box.  Should work then.

The URL "I" provided is the way the forum re-formats it after you create the post.  I was simply illustrating how your hyperlink format was different from the insert image format.  When you use the insert image button, you just take the physical location of your image on the internet, which is this ... http://dc305.4shared.com/img/d0jxcChY/s7/JH_Dog_Sled-w.jpg and just paste it into the pop up window, making sure you paste it OVER the default http:// that is already in the window.
