Hey guys,

I make trips back to MD from Wyoming every now and then. Now that I have a DSLR I'm planning on taking that as carry on for my flight. I have a Canon T2i and an 18-55 and a 70-300 to go with me.

I was wondering what kind of bag suggestions you all have for this? I'd like the price to be under $40 or around that price range if possible. Also if it can fit inside my backpack that would be sweet as well.

I have a camera bag but it only holds my body with the 18-55 on it.

Suggestions? Input? should I maybe do a single lens bag like this?

I would get a hard case if you are going to be doing regular traveling and flying with it. You should be able to find a hard case that will hold all your gear and still be small enough to store under a plane seat, or maybe even cram into a backpack.

You can break out the soft camera bag when you get to your final destination and need to have easier access to the camera.

Do you plan on staying in photography for a while?  I say that because your camera bag shouldn't be something you go cheap with.  Having a good bag can save and your equipment and can even have covers to protect from water.  If your staying in it for a long time i'd look at getting something bigger..... I only say this because once you start getting more and more gear it's easy to need more space.  Just an idea.

For $40 i'd get this:

other wise get this:

awesome bag.

I don't have that specific lens, but I find that the Maxpedition Rolly Poly works very well.  I think they make a smaller one that might work even better especially if you don't use a hood on the lens.  "Nalgene" pouches as made by most tactical gear companies also work well and they hold the lens in position better.
