Or is this EXIF data? Is it possible to pull aperture, shutter speed, ISO, etc from any image using a browser extension in Firefox?

yeah I have the add-on...

How do I know which images I can pull aperture, shutter speed, and ISO for and which ones I can't?

Either the EXIF is there, or it isn't.  Just try each image, and see what shows up.  Many photo processing programs will strip the EXIF information from the images, under some circumstances.  For instance, Photoshop will strip the information if you use the "save for web" function.  So you just never know how the image has been processed.  All you can do is try it and see.

And even if the photographer left the exif in place when saving it, many photo hosting sites will strip the exif info when the images are uploaded.
